Suppose If I zipped up my D5 CD and sent it your way would the product code on your installation CD work and if yes would it be legal? Thats assuming my D5 ent is ok I never did load it or even register it. I think I only ever registered D4 coz I bought it via PCPLUS magazine very very cheap and I was not sure it was kosher so I phoned Borl UK and it was fine (Old stock I assumed) I do however have all versions from D1-D7 unregistered and I await someone to prosecute me and convict me for not registering my software. My car however is registered and MS play no part in it, but when all that changes and they move into ECU stuff and take control of my satnav then I will get a WAREZ car ( thats not funny is it).
Old/used/out-of-print copies of Borland/Inprise Delphi compilers and add-on tools bought. Delphi 5 Professional, Upgrade from Client/Server Enterprise, CD.

Rita 'Paul Nichols TeamB' writes news:45b3606d$. Anyone know where I can get a copy of Delphi 5 Enterprise? I am a Delphi Developer, but my CD is trashed! Need to load it for a program I wrote years ago. They need updates and support. ThanksPaul Not sure on the legalities of a download. If you have D5 Enterprise and the companion CD, I'd be willing to purchase it, however.

Distributing a copy of one's CD is illegal unless approved by Borland, and even then, I am doubtful they'll even permit such an activity. Since they don't sell D5 anymore, they'll probably pitch D2006 to you.:) Seriously though, I think this goes to say the 'you can backup the CD for archive purposes' really makes a lot of sense, especially when trashing the original is one of Murphy's laws. (Paraphrase: The moment that you need your original CDs to install a vital component to your already late project, the original CDs would be trashed beyond help.) Edmund. Quote Anyone know where I can get a copy of Delphi 5 Enterprise? I am a Delphi Developer, but my CD is trashed! Have you contacted CodeGear / Borland to ask what is their policy for replacing lost CDs? Surely they must have one?
I'd expect them to be able to do that in return for a nominal charge for shipping and handling. I get similar requests every single day for my software and am happy to provide replacement downloads for.no charge.
for the current and two previous versions even though I make a heck of a lot less profit per sale than Borland would on Delphi Enterprise. Quote 'Paul Nichols TeamB' writes news:45b3606d$. Anyone know where I can get a copy of Delphi 5 Enterprise?

However, if Borland is uncooperative and you are really desperate, EMS is currently advertising a second-hand copy of D5 Ent on CD for $495: Stop Press.
Or if you're quick there's a copy going on eBay right now. Current bid is $7.50 and there's just under 2 days to go. 'This auction is for one Borland Delphi 5 Enterprise still in shrink wrapped package. It has never been opened, installed or registered.
